Equans wins landmark contract with City of Brampton

Equans wins landmark contract with City of Brampton to improve user experience and deploy innovative CAD/AVL technology across its entire bus system.

A Computer Aided Dispatch/Automatic Vehicle Location (CAD/AVL) and Real-Time Passenger Information (RTPI) system world leader, Ineo Systrans Inc. (a division of Equans France), has been selected by Brampton Transit, to modernize its entire bus fleet with a new CAD/AVL system. As one of the fastest-growing large cities in Canada, home to 700,000 people and over 90,000 businesses.

Brampton is a leader in transit fleet electrification. By improving the service quality of its 475 buses, serving over 31 million passengers in 2022 along 70 fixed routes, the city of Brampton leads in technological and environmental innovation and promotes the development of a safer, more sustainable and accessible mobility.

Executed in June 2023, the contract will deliver a full replacement of Brampton Transit’s current system for its fixed-route services, including the central system, on-board components, communications, and passenger information systems with the latest Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) technologies.

Equans will supply, install, and commission the NAVINEO’s computer-aided dispatch and automatic vehicle location (CAD/AVL) solution, real-time passenger information (RTPI) systems and interface to existing Passenger Counters, along with its Smart Yard Management module.
